    4th Test: Raina replaces Dhawan, Gambhir in and out due to jaundice

    New Delhi: Shikhar Dhawan, the new sensation of Indian cricket is ruled out of the fourth Test against Australia, scheduled to be played at Delhi from 22 March to 26 March 2013, as his fracture in the left hand sustained. Dhawan, who made 187 in his debut Test, had a finger injury during fielding in Mohali. He will be out of action for six weeks. Suresh Raina has replaced him in the squad.

    The selection committee then opted for veteran left-handed batsman Gautam Gambhir but later Gambhir was left out again due to jaundice, after undergoing a blood test, earlier on Tuesday. The committee members waited for his report and declared the team much later than expected.

    "The All India Senior Selection Committee added Gautam Gambhir and Suresh Raina to the squad for the fourth Test. However, Gambhir has been diagnosed with jaundice, after undergoing a blood test, earlier on Tuesday. The official announcement of the team was delayed, as the Board was waiting for the copy of report. Gambhir will not take part in Delhi Test, as a result," BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale said in a press release.

    Earlier, Dhoni made it clear that Dhawan had very little chance to recover from injury before Delhi Test. Dhawan did not open the second innings at Mohali.
