Australia: Australia Test bowling coach Craig McDermott's son has been withdrawn from a Chairman's XI to face England in a two-day tour match in this central Australian town starting Friday.
Alister McDermott, the 22-year-old red head with a bowling action just like his dad, and Kane Richardson were withdrawn from the team to play England and have returned to their state teams for domestic matches.
They'll be replaced by 28-year-old Jayde Herrick from Victoria and 21-year-old Simon Mackin, who is on a rookie contract at Western Australia.
Former Test spinner Michael Beer will captain the Chairman's XI, which also contains 16-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Jake Doran.
England are coming off a 381-run loss in the first Test and their preparations for the 2nd Test, starting December 5, were set back when experienced batsman Jonathan Trott left the Ashes tour with a stress-related illness.
