The veteran Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan took his 12th five-for (6/59) as Zimbabwe bowled out the visitors for 240 and reached 27/1 at stumps on the opening day of the first Test in Dhaka on Saturday.
Earlier, opener Sikandar Raza struck 51 on Saturday to steer Zimbabwe to 179 for 5 at tea on the first day of the first Test against Bangladesh.
Raza, who hit six fours, defied Bangladesh's spinners to steady the innings after an early stumble at 31 for 2. Elton Chigumbura made 29 while captain Brendan Taylor scored 28.
Craig Ervine was on 24 at tea with Regis Chakabva on 15.
Raza and Taylor added 52 runs for the third wicket before Bangladesh got back in the match with three quick wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan and newcomer Jubair Hossain claimed two wickets apiece while Shahadat Hossain returned 1 for 38.
Raza, playing in his second Test, had to be watchful as the pitch gradually became slow and low. He was supported by Taylor initially before legspinner Hossan induced the batsman with a flighted delivery to take his maiden wicket.
Taylor struck three fours and a six.
