West Indies A 2nd innings

Stumps, day 3: West Indies A made a slow starts in the second innings after taking a crucial lead in the first innings. West Indies A were 28 for 0 in 14 overs at stumps on day 3 in second innings leading India A by 75 runs. Kraigg Brathwaite was batting at 18 and Kieran Powell was not out at 9.

India A First Innings

(India began Day 3 at 191 for 3, with opener VA Jagadeesh batting on 79 and Abhishek Nayar on 56.)

3:30 p.m. All over! Fudadin claims the last wicket of Shami (15) to end India innings at 359, which gives the visitors a useful 47-run first innings lead. Uday Kaul remains not out for a fighting 64. Cummins took three wickets while Permaul, Miller and Fudadin picked two each. Deonarine took one wicket.

2:35 p.m. Tea has been announced as the players walk off. Good session for the Windies who have taken four wickets since lunch to put the hosts on the mat. However, they face stiff resistance from the last-wicket pair of Kaul (55*) and Shami (9*). India A 344 for 9, WI A 406/

2:20 p.m. Cummins has come back with a twin blow to remove Bhargav Bhatt (11) and Zaheer Khan (0) to as India A stare at conceding a substantial first innings lead. India A 325 for 9 in 119 overs.

2 p.m. Deonarine has joined the party by getting rid of Rasool for 11, as the visitors now eye a healthy first innings lead. India A 317 for 7 in 115 overs.

1:30 p.m. Uday Kaul (34*) and Parvez Rasool (6*) are fighting it out for the hosts as West Indies A look to inflict further damage before tea. India A 301 for 6 in 110 overs

12:50 p.m. Out! Kaif's resistance has been broken by Fudadin, who gets the right-hander caught by Deonarine for 26 to deliver India A the sixth below. 283 for 6 in 100 overs, WI A 406 all out.

12:35 p.m. Kaif and Kaul have buckled down in the first half an hour after lunch. India A need a partnership going here to challenge the visitors' first innings total of 406. India A 273 for 5 in 95 overs.

11:30 a.m. That's lunch! Clearly West Indies' morning as they have removed the two well-set overnight batsmen Jagadeesh and Nayar. At the first break, Kaif batting at 24 and Kaul on 13. India A 269 for 5 in 90 overs, WI A 406 all out.

11 a.m. Nayar (89) goes as well, and it's becoming a good morning for West Indies A bowlers as Miller traps the Mumbai batsman in front to deliver another telling blow. India A 255 for 5 in 81 overs. Kaif batting on 19 and is joined by Uday Kaul 4*.

10:25 p.m. Cummins strikes! Jagadeesh falls after adding just seven runs to his overnight 79, out for 86. Nayara batting on 72 as Mohammad Kaif (3*) comes out to join him. India A 218 for 4 in 70 overs.

10 a.m. A solid start to the day by Jagadeesh (85*) and Nayar (67) as India A score reaches 209 for 3 in 64 overs.

Day 2 Round-up

Virender Sehwag's experiment to bat in the middle-order didn't yield any favourable result while Gautam Gambhir's woeful run of form continued as India A reached 191 for 3 at stumps on the second day of their second unofficial Test against West Indies A at Shimoga on Thursday.

After West Indies A scored a decent 406 in their first innings, opener Gambhir (11) and No. 4 Sehwag (7) played atrocious shots off left-arm spinner Veeraswamy Permaul's (2 for 60) bowling to get back to the cooler confines of the dressing room.
