As it happened: India vs England, U-19 World Cup quarter-finals

ENGLAND INNINGS (chasing 222 to win)

Chasing a challenging total of 222, the England batsmen held their nerve and closed the contest in the last over.

End of 49.1 overs: Rob Jones (28*) and Rob Sayer (10*) held their nerves to take England past the finish line. Jones struck a boundary off Hooda's last ball of the 49th over as England needed four runs in the last over. Sayer smashed Milind for four off the very first ball as England closed the contest with three wickets remaining. England 222 for 7

End of 47th over: Vijay Zol brought back his ace bowler Kuldeep Yadav for his last over and the left-arm Chinaman didn't disappoint his captain as he picked the important wicket of Joe Clarke. Zol took an excellent catch running backwards from midwicket.

End of 44th over: The Indian bowlers kept England in check with tight line and lengths. Joe Clarke and Jones were in the middle for England as they approached closer to the Indian total. England 185 for 6

End of 35th over: Kuldeep Yadav picked up his second wicket when Rhodes failed to pick his wrong 'un and was bowled for 10. England 150 for 6

End of 30th over: Ben Duckett played one shot too many and was taken by Kuldeep Yadav for 61. Vijay Zol took a simple catch at short cover. England 138 for 5.

End of 27th over: Offspinner Gani breaks the threatening stand between Duckett and Barnard when he had the latter caught by Sanju Samson at deep midwicket for 24. England 119 for 4.

End of 23rd over: Ben Duckett and Ed Barnard shared a crucial partnership of over 50 runs and brought up England's 100 in the 22nd over. Duckett was more aggressive between the two batsmen, playing a series of reverse sweeps that affected the line and lengths of the Indian spinners. England 104 for 3

End of 16th over: Wicket! After stroking a useful 68, Deepak Hooda also struck with his offspin, taking the return catch of Tattersall, who came down the track to flick one through the leg side, but the leading edge went back to the bowler. England 65 for 3

End of 9th over: Out! Higgins' stay has been ended by Milind for just 1. Smart catch by Samson at short cover. England 36 for 2 in 9 overs.

End of 8th over: Monu Kumar strikes! England opener Finch is caught plumb in front after making just 10. Tattersall batting on 22, Ryan Higgins joins him. England 35 for 1.

End of 5th over: Sedate start by England openers Tattersall (14) and Finch (6) as India open bowling with medium-pacers CV Milind and Mony Kumar. England 21 for 0

End of 50th over: India finish at 221 for 7, thanks to Sarafarz Khan's blitz of 52* off 46 balls that backed up the recovery done by Hooda (68) and Zol (48) that lifted India out of the woods at 24 for 4. Matt Fisher ended up as the top wicket-taker for England with figures of 3 for 55 in 10 overs.

End of 48th over: Kuldeep Yadav is run out for 16 off 18 balls. India 196 for 8.

End of 43rd over: India lost No. 7. Aamir Gani (7) has been caught by Rob Sayer off Ryan Higgins. India 162 for 7.

End of 40th over: Deepak Hooda (68) commits suicide off the last ball of the Powerplay, calls Sarfaraz for a tight run and in the end gets run out for 68. Sarfaraz batting on 12*. India 147 for 6.

End of 33rd over: NELSON STRIKES! India have lost Zol just when the innings looked to be getting back on track. Rob Sayer gets the Indian skipper for 48, ending the 87-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Hooda on 46, joined by Sarfaraz Khan. India 113 for 5.

End of 31st over: Scorecard looking much better now as Zol (44*) and Hooda (42*) bring up India's 100 in 30.1 overs. India need to at least cross 200 to bring their bowlers into play. The score now stands at 103 for 4.

End of 24th over: No more wickets is the good news for India, but in the rebuilding process runs aren't coming at a good rate. But that's understandable after being reduced to 24 for 4. Zol (26*) and Hooda (20*) have added 38 so far to take India's score to 62 for 4.

End of 15th over Captain Vijay Zol and Deepak Hooda have put up some resistance after India lost four early wickets. The duo are trying their best to rotate the strike to improve India's run-rate. India 40 for 4.

End of 9th over: MORE BAD NEWS for Indian fans! Ricky Bhui (7) falls as well, removed by Fisher who is in the middle of an unplayable spell with three wickets to his name. Deepak Hooda has walked in to join skipper Vijay Zol (9). India 26 for 4.

End of 3rd over: SHOCKER! England pacers, particularly Matt Fisher, have rattled India with three wickets in three overs. Ankush Bains (3), Akhil Herwadkar (2) and the in-form Sanju Samson all back in the hut. Jack Winslade took the opening wicket of Bains, followed by a two-wicket over from Fisher who was also on a hat-trick. India 9 for 3
