As it happened: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh, 2nd Test, Day 1

Live updates from day one of the second Test between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh at the Harare Sports Club on Thursday.

Bangladesh 1st innings

End of over No. 88, Bangladesh 300 for 6: It's stumps now! Nasir Hossain and Ziaur Rahman are in the middle for Bangladesh. Earlier Rahim and Shakib shared a superb hundred-run stand before both were out in quick succession. It has been an even day for both the teams. Expect another close encounter on day two.

End of over No. 74, Bangladesh 248 for 5: Shakib Al Hasan departs after well made 81. He has thrown away his wicket once again. He came down the track and hit it hard at it but got an under edge and gave away catch to the keeper.

End of over No. 67, Bangladesh 221 for 4: Shakib Al Hasan is not out on 61 at the moment with Mushfiqur Rahim, who is on 47. The duo have added 96 runs between them and have put Bangladesh innings back on track. Godd start to third session for visitors.

End of over No. 53, Bangladesh 171 for 4: Shakib Al Hasan (38*) and Mushfiqur Rahim (21*) have somewhat re-built the innings at the stroke of tea with an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 46 runs after Bangladesh lost two more wickets in the post-lunch session.

End of over No. 44, Bangladesh 151 for 4 in 45 overs: The experienced Shakib Al Hasan (30*) and Mushfiqur Rehman (13*) have steadied the ship a little in the last 11 overs by not allowing Zimbabwe to hurt them any further. But they need to bat on for most of the remaining time on day one for Bangladesh to have any realistic hopes of posting a total in excess of 300.

End of over No. 34, Bangladesh 125 for 4: Zimbabwe continue to make further inroads post lunch. Chigumbura strikes to remove Mominum Haque for 23, who scoops a good length ball to extra cover. Poor shot selection.

End of over No. 29, Bangladesh 102 for 3: Tamim Iqbal has gifted his wicket away at 49. He gets run out trying to steal a single. Just when it looked he could anchor the innings after the two early wickets, Zimbabwe have struck through a direct hit by Shingi Masakadza.

End of over No. 20, Bangladesh 64 for 2: Keegan Meth got the wicket of Jahurul Islam for 24 who went for a wild stroke after patiently building his innings in the first over. Islam went for a drive off a swinging away full length delivery ending up ballooning it in the air. Five overs later, Shingi Maskadza removed Mohd Ashraful for just four runs. Ashraful too was guilty of throwing his wicket away trying to pull a bouncer outside off. Tamim Iqbal, who looked solid in the middle scoring 30 was joined by Mominul Haque.

End of over No. 10, Bangladesh 35 for 0: Jahurul Islam and Tamim Iqbal scored 35 runs in the first 10 overs after Zimbabwe had put the visitors' to bat on a green top. Islam was the aggressor of the two cracking two boundaries through the offside region.

Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl. The host made one change to their side from the first Test, with Regis Chakabva coming in for Timycen Maruma.

Bangladesh made four changes, with Tamim Iqbal, Mominul Haque, Sajidul Islam and Ziaur Rahman coming in, while Mahmudullah, Shahriar Nafees, Enamul Haque jnr and Rubel Hossain going out
