People with ideas do things better and differently. This is important for ambitious people who want to grow in their fields. Yet most people do not know what to do, where to go or whom to talk to, when they want new ideas or want to solve a problem. Add to this problem is the belief that most have "I am not creative". There is a free e-book "How to get ideas" for all those who want to know more about getting ideas.
Mumbai, January 02, 2012: R Sridhar, Innovation Coach, IDEAS-RS wrote to several of his associates and friends. He asked them "How do you get ideas? What do you do? Where do you go? Whom do you talk to?" 41 of his friends obliged with their own insights on how they get ideas. These 41 people are professionals from a variety of fields. Very few of them come from the 'creative' professions.
Therefore the insights and tips are simple and do-able.
"Don't chase ideas" says one of them. The advice is to soak yourself in knowing more about the subject, talking to experts and so on to get new perspectives. Just digging deeper into the issue may not help.
"Ideas are floating around, they just come to me" says another. He talks about making interesting connections.
"Borrow from Nature" says a third friend.
Sridhar calls his e-book How to get Ideas 'An incomplete book'. He is looking at this as his Version 1.0. He hopes that more people will contribute bring out a comprehensive Version 2.0. In his blog How people get ideas Sridhar explains the concept of this e-book and also provides a link for the e-book. The initial response has been 'very good', he says and hopes that a lot more people get their free copies.
