Harare: Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 143 runs Monday for their first Test win in four years and only their fourth victory ever in the five-day format.
Bangladesh bowled Zimbabwe out for 257 on the final day of the second Test at Harare Sports Club to draw their series 1-1 and end a run of nine straight series defeats. Ziaur Rahman took 4-63 in Zimbabwe's second innings on debut as the home team ended well short of a huge target of 401.
Hamilton Masakadza was 111 not out for Zimbabwe, but Bangladesh completed a dramatic turnaround to level the series after losing the first test by 335 runs.
Bangladesh's three other victories in more than a decade of Test cricket were against Zimbabwe in 2005 and two against West Indies in 2009.
