CLT20: T&T vs Cobras as it happened

    Trinidad and Tobago Innings:

Not just T&T, but even the IPL teams will be celebrating this win! Mumbai Indians are now through to the semi-finals, with five points in Group A. Meanwhile, T&T's fate now depends on the final group game between Chennai Super Kings and New South Wales Blues. If NSW win, they will be through with 6 points. However, if CSK win, then run-rate will decide whether they or T&T make it to the last-four. No wonder the Chennai crowd was backing T&T throughout the game!

No surprises as Kevon Cooper is the man-of-the-match. For the second time in a row, Cooper came in at the end with T&T seemingly in dire straits, and still pulled off a wonderful win. Meanwhile, the Cobras have only themselves to blame, after having been in control for most of the second innings. The 15-run 19th over by Steyn proved costly, and Langeveldt could not stop T&T from getting the required 9 runs off the last over. Disappointing exit for the Cobras, who had been one of the favourites to go far.

20th over, T&T win by two wickets: Cooper does it again! Unbelievable win for T&T and the Cobras will wonder how the match got away from them. Rampaul's slog is caught by Puttick on the very first delivery, but Cooper gets a four off the very next ball to take T&T close. Langeveldt then bowls a no-ball and Cooper (25* off 10 balls) hits the winning runs with two balls to spare. His 24-run partnership with Rampaul (7) at the end has kept T&T's hopes alive, and the Cobras are a disappointed lot.

19th over: 15 runs off that over by Dale Steyn, yes, Steyn, who had been excellent until this over. Yet Rampaul gets a boundary off the first ball and Cooper bludgeons a huge six off the last one, as T&T reach 129/7. 9 runs off the last over needed, close finish on the cards again. Will we see another Super Over?

18th over: It's firmly in favour of the Cobras now and T&T need another cameo from Kevon Cooper, as he had done against Chennai Super Kings, if they are to pull off a miracle win. Langeveldt gets Sherwin Ganga leg-before for 11 in the 17th over, before Peterson gets his first wicket in the 18th. Ramdin is bowled for 24, leaving T&T at 114/7, with 24 runs required off the last 2 overs. Cooper (8*) and Rampaul (2*) are the men who will have to do it for the West Indians. A huge six by Cooper off the last delivery of the over reminds us that the Cobras are not through just yet.

16th over: T&T can't pull this off, can they? Well, given how this tournament has gone, one can't rule them out just yet. 13 runs off this over from Duminy, with Sherwin Ganga (10*) hitting a six before Ramdin (20*) got a four off the last ball. T&T are 98/4, needing another 40 runs off 24 balls.

15th over: Kemp is on a roll here and T&T are in big trouble now. Kemp takes a blinder of a catch off his own bowling to dismiss Bravo (29). Sherwin Ganga survives an lbw and then run-out appeal on the first delivery he faces. Kemp (3/22), meanwhile, ends his excellent spell as T&T reach 85/5. 53 to win needed off the last 5 overs; Cobras looking the favourites at the moment.

13th over: T&T can still pull this off, with the required run-rate still below 10 an over. A lot will depend on Bravo (27 not out) and Denesh Ramdin (9 not out). T&T are 75/4, needing another 63 runs.

11th over: Justin Kemp has turned the game in the Cobras favour with two wickets off successive balls in this over. Barath (16) hit a four but was bowled off the very next ball, a yorker from Kemp. T&T skipper Daren Ganga is out on the very next delivery, once again bowled, to leave T&T struggling at 62/4. They need another 76 runs off 54 balls.

10th over: Barath is dropped by Vilas behind the wickets and Robin Peterson (0/16) will feel hard done by. Meanwhile, Barath (12 not out) makes the Cobras pay off the very next ball with a big six to bring up T&T's half-century. At the half-way mark, T&T are 56/2.

9th over: Barath and Bravo will have to do what Shah and Vilas did for the Cobras earlier. Only four runs come off the 9th over though, as T&T reach 45/2. Bravo has 17, Barath is on 5, and T&T need another 93 runs off 66 balls.

6th over: Both openers are out now. Simmons is gone for 9, caught by the substitute Andrew Puttick off Kleinveldt. T&T are 28/2, as Adrian Barath walks in.

5th over: Steyn has been brilliant at one end, conceding just three runs and picking up a wicket as well, in his three overs. Still, 9 runs from the previous over by Rory Kleinveldt mean T&T have managed to reach 22/1. Bravo is on 5, Simmons on 8.

3rd over: The superb Steyn gets the first breakthrough! Perkins is out lbw for 6. Darren Bravo is the new batsman in.

2nd over: After a maiden over from Dale Steyn to start off the proceedings, William Perkins (6 not out) picks up a four off the second ball of Charl Langeveldt's first over. Cautious start from T&T though, as they reach 8/0. Lendl Simmons (1) got off the mark with a risky single, but survived the run-out appeal because of unclear replays.

    Cape Cobras Innings:

Fighting fifties from Dane Vilas and Owais Shah helped the Cobras recover from the loss of two early wickets and reach a decent total of 137/4, while T&T's slow bowlers did their job once again. It's not an easy track to score off though, so T&T will have to chase sensibly.

20th over: Ravi Rampaul (1/25) bowls the final over and gives away 9 runs. Shah picks up a boundary to finish unbeaten on 63. The Cobras manage 137/4.

19th over: Just five runs off the over as Kevon Cooper picks up JP Duminy (9) with a slow delivery. Justin Kemp comes out to the crease.

17th over: Shah is still going strong at the other end. The England international reaches his half-century as Narine (1/19) finishes his spell. Cobras are 115/3 and will be aiming for a score of around 140, which should be a good total on this wicket.

15th over: Finally a breakthrough for T&T! Narine, who has been one of the West Indian team's most successful bowlers, gets Vilas. Vilas tries to pull a legbreak delivery, only to top-edge to it to Daren Ganga at cover. Still, a crucial knock of 54 from the South African. JP Duminy walks in as the Cobras reach 102/3.

14th over: Cobras starting to push on now, as Owais Shah (37 not out) gets into the act. One six and a four and 16 runs come off that Sherwin Ganga over. Ganga, in fact, has conceded 38 runs in his 3 overs - Expensive! Cobras are 96/2.

13th over: Vilas (51 not out) completes his fifty with an inside edge that runs away behind the keeper. Only six runs off that over from Sunil Narine. The Cobras will be looking to use this platform to get some quick runs now.

12th over: Vilas is starting to go for his shots now, and unfortunately for T&T, he's not finding the fielders. Two fours mean 13 runs come off the 12th over as the Cobras reach 74/2. Vilas is two runs away from his half-century.

10th over: Vilas (34 not out) and Shah (21 not out) have steadied the ship for the Cobras. Meanwhile, Badree has finished his spell, conceding 19 runs and picking up 1 wickets in his 4 overs. He was unlucky not to have picked up Shah in the 10th over though, but the leg-before decision was not given.

8th over: Owais Shah and Dane Vilas have started playing few shots to get some run on the board. Nine came from the over which included a boundary by Shah.

6th over: Dane Vilas is riding on his luck, Another inside edge led to the boundary. Six runs came of Ravi Rampaul third over. Vilas moves to 22. Cobras are 31/2 after six as field restrictions can off now.

4th over: Another one gone. Both the openers are back into the pavilion after Ravi Rampaul picked up dangerous Herschelle Gibbs. Gibbs was growing impatient and was itching to cut loose, but perished in pursuit of a pressure-release stroke. Still nine came from the over including a boundary from Dane Vilas at point region.

3rd over: Trinidad and Tobago spinners have started brilliantly and Cobras' batsmen have been unable to cut loose. Just five came from the third over after a brilliant 2nd over that produced just one run. Cobras 10/1.

1st over: Samuel Badree got Trinidad and Tobago off to a flying start after picking up the wicket of opener Richard Levi off the second ball of the match. Cobras are 4/1 after first over.

Toss: Cape Cobras skipper Justin Kemp on Tuesday won the toss and elected to bat first against Trinidad and Tobago in a must-win encounter for the sides from South Africa and the West Indies.

Cobras have made one change in their playing eleven, Vernon Philander comes in place for Rory Kleinveldt. On the other hand Trinidad and Tobago are unchanged for the game.

Cobras, who have only one win against NSW Blues and a no result so far, need a win here to move to five points and they may then make their way into the semis by virtue of a better net run-rate than Mumbai.

Trinidad and Tobago, on the other hand, will have to beat the Cobras and hope NSW lose to CSK to stand any chance of entering the semis. Any other result and they will be eliminated.
