CSK name Dhoni, Raina, Ashwin, Jadeja, Bravo as five retained players

Making use of the IPL rules that allow a franchise to retain five players before the auction on February 12, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have tweeted the names of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo as the players they have decided to retain.Tournament rules allow the franchises to retain four capped India players, and CSK have as expected gone ahead in favour of their stalwarts, most of whom have never played for another franchise in the league's six-year history. Dhoni, Raina and Ashwin have been with Chennai since day one.CSK are the most decorated IPL franchise, having won the title back to back in 2010 and 2011, having made it to the final in five of the six editions. They also won the Champions League T20 in 2010. Dhoni was the most expensive player in the league's first auction six year ago in 2008. Raina is IPL's top run-scorer and has never missed a game.Jadeja joined Chennai camp in 2012 when he made heads roll after the franchise paid a whopping $2 million for him in a secret tie-breaker with Deccan Chargers that no longer exists now. Bravo set a new record for most wickets in an IPL season in 2013.The franchises also have a buy-back option for additional players, which can be done with right-to-match cards. But since CSK have used the maximum limit of retaining five players, they are now left with just one of those cards to be used at the auction.CSK purse will get considerably lighter for the auction after retention of five player. Of the Rs 600 million auction purse, Rs. 125 million will be deducted for player one, Rs 95 million for player two, Rs 75 million for player three, Rs 55 million for player four and Rs 40 million for player five. For the 2014 season, the maximum squad limit has been set to 27 and the minimum to 16.####The #Super5 is here! #whistlepodu pic.twitter.com/R1us92KhyD— Chennai Super Kings (@ChennaiIPL) January 9, 2014
