Former SL pacer Zoysa to be Goa bowling consultant

Panaji: Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Nuwan Zoysa has been hired by the Goa cricket board as a coaching consultant for a short stint in the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. The 34-year-old who played 30 Tests and 95 one-day internationals will work with Goa’s bowlers for ten days, having already been in Panaji observing and meeting the squad. "I have a motive in coaching the Goan team. Cricket has given so much to me and I want to give back something to the game, regardless of whether it's in Sri Lanka or here in Goa. The assignment is a new venture and I am keeping my fingers crossed," Zoysa told Times of India/. Zoysa was unable to spend more time with the Goa squad due to his obligations in Sri Lanka where he is coach of the Nondescripts Cricket Club and assistant coach of Sri Lanka Premier League franchise Nagenahira Nagas. Goa open their Ranji Trophy campaign on November 9 at home against Jammu & Kashmir.
