    Furious Lehmann slams Deccan fielding

Jaipur: Deccan Chargers coach Darren Lehmann blasted the poor fielding effort from his boys which led to them not being able to defend as big a target as 197 against Rajasthan Royals in an IPL 5 match on Tuesday. Rajasthan pulled off a remarkable chase with five wickets and two balls remaining, thanks to the early efforts of Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane and a late cameo from Brad Hodge.

"We should have taken the catches and should not have allowed the ball to pass between the legs while fielding. It was like an under-14 team on the ground," a visibly disappointed coach Lehmann said at the media conference after the match on Tuesday. "It was really disappointing to suffer three defeats in a row. In fact, it should have been 2-1 because it was a flip-of-the-coin case against Mumbai and [the] same here [today]. We bowled badly with the new ball, but then it was same for both teams."

Lehmann also admitted that Dale Steyn, who gave away 44 runs in 3.4 overs, was also not in his elements. "Steyn also did not bowl well. Our new-ball attack was not up to the mark. It has been a disappointing start to the tournament for us," conceded Lehmann.

Lehmann feels that the boys are perhaps not paying attention to what is being said to them. "We will have to work on lot of things and perhaps the boys are not listening to what is being told to them. We have to plan a different strategy, but the dressing room atmosphere is quiet."
