BELGAUM: A clerk attached to Public Works Department (PWD) was beaten up by the members of a women's organisation for sexually harassing a woman, on Sunday.
Namitha (name changed), who is a widow, said that Raju Ashtekar had assured her of some help and for the same he had invited her to his government quarters, when his wife was not in town. Ashtekar tried to sexually harass her when she reached his home.
"As I had a doubt on him, I had informed the women's organisation earlier, to rescue me," she added.
The angry activists dragged Ashtekar from his house and beat him up.
The market police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
