New Delhi: AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa met the Tamil Nadu Governor SS Barnala on Sunday to stake the claim to form a new government.
She will be sworn in at 12.15 pm on Monday. It will be a 30-member cabinet with many party veterans.
On Friday, Jayalalithaa had a thumping victory against the ruling DMK, grabbing 203 of the 234 assembly seats.
Right after her win, Jayalalithaa also shifted the seat of governance and assembly to the old secretariat - the colonial building at Fort St George. The AIADMK had said back in February 2011 that if elected, it would move the government back into the historical structure, which was the seat of power in the state until 2010.
