Ind vs NZ, 2nd Test Day 2: as it happened

India were 283 for 5 at stumps on day two of the second Test, trailing New Zealand's first innings score by 82 runs.

After losing Suresh Raina for 55 just after tea, Virat Kohli (93*) and MS Dhoni (46*) showed resilience by putting up an unbeaten 104-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

Earlier in the day, India's chase of New Zealand's first innings' score of 365 started off on the wrong foot, with the hosts losing the wickets of Gautam Gambhir and Cheteshwar Pujara early. Tim Southee troubled the Indian top order and took both the wickets.

New Zealand added 37 runs to their overnight score of 328 for 6 as India folded the visitors' first innings for 365, with Pragyan Ojha picking up 5 for 99.
