Day 1 roundup: Virat Kohli and company will be a happy lot after the first day's play in the third Test as Team India dominated proceedings. England, who chose to bat first after winning the toss, ended the day at 268/8 with all the Indian bowlers picking up wickets.

Earlier, Karun Nair made his Test debut as KL Rahul aggravated his forearm injury and Parthiv Patel made his Test comeback after eight long years.

Jonny Bairstow was the top scorer for England with 89 runs and he was well supported by Jos Buttler (43), Ben Stokes (29) and Chris Woakes (25).
