New Delhi: India might have lost the final of the Champions Trophy to arch-rivals Pakistan, but skipper Virat Kohli has won the hearts with his post-match speech where he praised Pakistan for showing the world once again that they can play like champions on their day. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Amir were the stars as Pakistan demolished India in the final and Kohli was graceful in defeat.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Kohli said: "Congratulations to Pakistan and their fans on this victory. The way they turned things around speaks volumes of the talent they have in their side. They can upset anyone on their day. Credit to Pakistan as they outplayed us in all departments of the game. We never took anyone lightly in this tournament and they were just more intense and more passionate than us on the day."

Twitter was full of praise for the India skipper with tweets coming in from across the border.

Even legends like Shane Warne and Brendon McCullum took note of Kohli’s sportsman spirit. While Warne wrote: “Congrats Pakistan on a wonderful victory. To @imVkohli & your team, well played through the tournament & well spoken after the game #CT17 !”

McCullum wrote: “India excellent throughout tournament except today. Impressed how well @imVkohli spoke post match. Gracious in defeat.”

Surely Kohli is a winner here despite failing to rise to the occasion in the final.
