Baidurjo and Arnab: This is all we have from the preview friends. Catch you guys with the Toss and LIVE blog in 25 minutes from now. Catch you guys on the other end.
Baidurjo: I would like to see Marsh in Morgan's place and Aaron in Ishant's place. My playing XI goes: Hashim Amla, Manan Vohra, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Glenn Maxwell (capt), Shaun Marsh, David Miller, Axar Patel, Mohit Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, KC Cariappa, Varun Aaron
Arnab: Good show brother. Keep up the spirit. My likely playing XI goes: Parthiv Patel (wk), Jos Buttler, Nitish Rana, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Mitchell McClenaghan, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah
Baidurjo: I would just like to say one old cliche. Cricket my friend is not played on paper. And T20 is a format of uncertainties. May the best team come out on top tonight. Let us have a look at the likely playing XIs for tonight. Why don't you go first Arnab?
Arnab: Well, you have surely tried to fight a hard battle, but let me tell you my friend MI are looking solid on paper and it should not be too much of a struggle for the 2-time IPL champions to win the game this evening at the beautiful Holkar Cricket Stadium. MI are here to break KXIP's winning run in Indore.
Baidurjo: No doubt MI have a good bowling line-up, but they have relied slightly more on the pacers and this is one aspect that could swing things in KXIP's favour because in Indore, it is the spinners who have been more successful with controlling the game. They have picked 7 wickets at an economy rate of 7.02 while the pacers have managed to pick 9 wickets, but given away runs at 9.24.
Arnab: If you are talking of bowlers, let me once again introduce to you our star wicket-taker this season Mitchell McClenaghan. He has picked 7 wickets at an economy rate of 8.65. And close on his heels we have Bumrah who has 4 wickets at 8.80. More importantly, his consistency with the yorkers in the death overs is a huge plus. Not to forget old warhorse Harbhajan Singh. Even though he has picked just 3 wickets, he has an economy rate of 5.93.
Baidurjo: Well talking of Rana, I have an interesting stat here. He has scored 127 off his 193 runs on the leg-side and only 66 runs on the off-side. Are we seeing at someone who is only good with the hoicks? I am sure the KXIP management would have taken this in account and strategised well for the uncapped star from Delhi.
Arnab: You might call it bragging, but Mumbai have too many batsmen and Punjab have only Axar and Sandeep to bank on. You name it and Mumbai have it. A solid striker up front in Buttler, a solid No.3 in Rana, an in-form middle-order bat in Pollard and a quality finisher in Hardik. In current form, Mumbai are definitely looking good to rise to the top of the table from their number three standing.
Baidurjo: Well, Rohit still has been dismissed by spinners in the first 4 games and KXIP spinner Axar Patel will be licking his fingers at the opportunity to bowl at the MI skipper straightaway as he comes to the crease. In fact, Axar has been the best bowler on display for Punjab with 6 wickets in 5 games at an economy rate of 7.05.
Arnab: But sadly for KXIP, Rohit is finally back in flow, having hit an unbeaten 40 off 29 balls against Gujarat Lions. That only adds to batting firepower of the Mumbai Indians. And with Hardik there to end the show with a current strike-rate of 225.00, KXIP surely have to pull out something out of the ordinary in this game to turn the rut.
Baidurjo: The uncapped players in the KXIP rank have honestly flattered to deceive apart from Vohra. But then, Sandeep has shown his skills on and off and sits second among the KXIP bowlers with 5 wickets at an economy rate of 8.57. He has been a bit off-colour in the death overs and needs to tighten his screws there. Also, he has had MI skipper Rohit Sharma's number, dismissing him twice. Rohit for all his big-hitting prowess has managed to score just 18 runs off 19 balls against the pacer. Even KC Cariappa has impressed even though he does not have the numbers to write home about.
Arnab: If Indore has been good for Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians hold the edge over KXIP as far as the last 9 encounters are concerned. They have won 6 of those and KXIP have managed to win just 3. Also, another important factor behind MI's fine showing this year has been the performance of the uncapped duo of Nitish Rana and Krunal Pandya.
While Rana has scored 193 runs in 5 games at a strike rate of 133.10, Krunal has hit the ball at a rate of 144.26 and also picked 4 wickets at an economy rate of 6.85.
Baidurjo: The foreign line definitely needs to perform better hereon to help the team arrest the slide. I have no idea what is wrong with the likes of Miller and Morgan. To be fair to Amla and Maxwell, they have shown form in patches and need to be more consistent. I would think that either Guptill or Marsh could come in for this game, provided they are a 100 per cent fitness wise. But yes, KXIP have had a good time at Indore, winning both the games they have played there and that should augur well for the team's confidence.
Arnab: Vohra was undoubtedly brilliant in the last game. But what is wrong with the foreign stars? Maxwell has scored just 122 runs in 5 games. Miller is sitting on 83 after 5 matches at a strike-rate of 103.75. Amla and Morgan too have disappointed with strike rates of 123.80 and 94.59 respectively. In comparison, MI's foreign stars have been providing the team value for money. Pollard has 164 runs in 5 games at 142.60 and Buttler too is striking it at 133.33. Clearly Mumbai have players in red-hot form going into this game.
Baidurjo: Agreed on the season going well for MI, but KXIP will take a lot of confidence from Manan Vohra's show in the last game against SRH. What a knock from the Punjab opener. He single-handedly took the game to the wire after the foreign recruits failed to shine. Knowing Sehwag, he would have definitely given the players a piece of his mind and nothing better than wounded lions entering the field with a point to prove.
Arnab: Yes, Mumbai have had a dream start to this campaign after the loss against Pune in the opening game. The derby might not have gone according to plan, but they are back on track. And with a bang. Impressive all-round shows have been the biggest positive for the team this year. Be it a young Nitish Rana or the all-round show from Krunal Pandya. Not to forget the big-hitting Kieron Pollard. Rohit Sharma has time and again spoken about the team doing well as a whole and that could again see them get the better of KXIP.

While Arnab will be batting for Mumbai, I will be backing Kings XI Punjab.
Two teams who are not really a match for each other on papers are set to battle it out in Indore. While Mumbai have won their last 4 games, losing only their opening game against Pune, Punjab have lost their last 3 games and need a win badly.
