New Delhi: Cricketers often speak about the importance of switching off once a match ends and thanks to the hectic scheduling of the IPL, switching off and enjoying oneself off the field becomes all the more important and the Kolkata Knight Riders players enjoyed a game of tennis ball cricket in the backyard.

The Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise posted a photo of Suryakumar Yadav batting left handed on Instagram which read: “The #Knights took some time off a busy schedule & spent an evening playing good old backyard cricket.🏏 Head over to kkr.in for more photos. #DusKiDahaad #AmiKKR.”

Kolkata Knight Riders’ official website also has pictures of Yusuf Pathan, the hero of the last game against Delhi Daredevils, enjoying with his son playing tennis ball cricket on the lawn.

KKR are set to play their next game against Gujarat Lions at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

The two-time IPL champions have shown exemplary character this season, especially during their nail-biting four-wicket win against Delhi Daredevils with one ball remaining.

Being in the dumps while chasing 169 to win, Manish Pandey (69 not out) and Yusuf Pathan (59) stemmed the rot doggedly with a 110-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Since the four-wicket loss to Mumbai Indians in their second outing, the Gautam Gambhir-led franchise has not looked back, scripting a hat-trick of wins.
