New Delhi: Out of the national team due to injury, Rohit Sharma has been finally cleared to be a part of the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming Indian Premier League.

The BCCI issued a mail on Saturday and confirmed that Rohit has been cleared to participate in the 10th edition of the cash-rich league. “Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have been declared fit to play competitive cricket. They will be available for IPL 2017,” the release said.

Rohit was earlier named the captain of the India ‘Blue’ team that took on Tamil Nadu — 2017 Vijay Hazare Trophy winners — and India ‘Red’ in this year’s Deodhar Trophy in Vizag. While Tamil Nadu went on to win the tournament, Rohit was ruled out as he was considered unfit.

Rohit sustained the injury during the ODI series against New Zealand in October and while he did play for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he managed scores of 16 and 4 only. Rohit will definitely look to use the IPL as a platform to return to the Indian team for the Champions Trophy.
