Kane Williamson was given a go by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the first time this season in the match against Delhi Daredevils at home and the Kiwi skipper repaid the faith shown in him by the team management, by playing perhaps his best IPL innings ever.
Coming in to bat after the early fall of skipper David Warner's wicket, Williamson was incomplete control of his game and the situation as mixed caution with aggression to take the attack to the Delhi bowlers.
Williamson brought up his half-century in just 33 deliveries and then upped the ante further. By the time he was dismissed on the first delivery of the 17th over by Chris Morris, the New Zealander had scored 89 runs off 51 deliveries.
His innings was studded with five maximums and six boundaries. Williamson laid the foundation for Hyderabad's ig score, which eventually turned out to be a match winning one.
Kane Willaimson was deservedly adjudged the Man of the Match.
