Baidurjo and Arnab: This is all we have from here for now. Catch you guys in 30 mins for the all-important toss and the LIVE blog of the match. Cheers.
Baidurjo: For me, I would definitely bring back Corey Anderson for Angelo Mathews and also Shabaz Nadeem for Shami.
Likely Playing XI: Sanju Samson, Sam Billings, Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant (wk), Corey Anderson, Chris Morris, Pat Cummins, Amit Mishra, Zaheer Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem
Arnab: Enough discussions, let us now look at the respective Likely Playing XIs.
Hyderabad for me goes: Likely Playing XI: David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh, Deepak Hooda, Naman Ojha (wk), Bipul Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Rashid Khan, Mustafizur Rahman
Baidurjo: Warner is surely a champion batsman and no doubting that, but do Hyderabad have the resources to give him the necessary support against a quality bowling attack like that of Delhi's. They undoubtedly have the best bowling attack in the competition along with Hyderabad. Morris, Zaheer and Cummins have been really good in the fast bowling department while Mishra and Nadeem have looked after spin bowling.
Arnab: Yes, some interesting battles on the card. Also, DD skipper Zaheer Khan is just 1 wicket away from picking 100 wickets in the league. He has been really good this season and it will be interesting to see him battle it out against his rival skipper Warner. For the record, Warner has scored 234 runs at an average of 58.50 against Delhi Daredevils.
Baidurjo: But Arnab, Bhuvi has a poor record against DD, having picked up just 3 wickets despite bowling 30+ overs in the IPL against the outfit. Also, he will have to face a strong challenge from Morris at the business end. Coming in at the death, his batting is simply spectacular: He currently strikes at 238.70. His 38 off 9 against RPS set a new record for the highest strike rate in an innings in the IPL. Amongst players to have faced at least 125 balls in the IPL, Morris’ IPL strike rate of 177.72 is the highest.
Arnab: Samson has definitely been in good form, but then, tonight he will be up against none other than Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvi has surely started from where he left in the last game. He has picked 15 wickets from 5 games at an economy rate of 5.40. Consistency is something that he is showing since the start of last season, he is averaging a massive 1.72 wickets/game since the start of IPL 2016 (38 Wickets in 22 Matches). With the match against Delhi being held at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium where he has picked up 9 wickets in three matches this season, he would be confident of putting up a great display.
Baidurjo: I would like to believe that horses for courses is something that will not change under Dravid's mentoring. And yes, Samson up the order definitely is a ploy to give him and Sam Billings more time to dig into the opposition bowling. Samson has been scoring at 146.61 and there is no reason to not let him get the maximum balls at the top. Mathews was surely a mistake and he should not be in the playing XI with Corey Anderson making a return.
Arnab: Yes, bowling is Delhi's forte for sure because batting combinations have been a worry for Delhi. DD from the last IPL are yet to play the same 11 for consecutive matches and their horses for courses policy has extended to their batting order as well. Sanju Samson started the IPL batting at no 4 against RCB, scored a brilliant century batting at no 3 in his next match against RPS and despite him scoring 4 out of 5 50s in the IPL at no 3 has been promoted to open in the last 2 matches. In the last match as well, Delhi surprisingly sent Angelo Mathews who scored just 1 from 4 balls ahead of the inform Morris who scored 16 of 9 balls and was dismissed on the last ball of the innings.
Baidurjo: For the record, Delhi bowlers have done really well this season. They have given away just 45 runs on an average in the powerplay and returned just as strongly in the death to give away 33.13 runs per over. This is where they can tighten the screws on the Hyderabad batsmen. Also, Delhi spin spearhead Amit Mishra has had a good time at the Rajiv gandhi International Stadium, picking up 27 wickets here.
Arnab: I think everyone is forgetting what Yuvraj did in the first game of the season against RCB. Yes, he did get out cheaply in the last couple of games, but that cannot take away the solidarity he brings out in the middle-order. Also, Naman Ojha played a good little cameo towards the end against KXIP when he hit 34 off 20 balls to push SRH's score to a fighting 159.
Baidurjo: Going by past records, Delhi's job will be to simply frustrate Warner at the non-striker's end because Dhawan as we all know is Zaheer Khan's bunny. The left-hand opener like left-handers around the world has been dismissed by Zaheer on numerous occasions. To be precise, Zaheer has got Dhawan out 4 times and the batsman has a strike-rate of just 102.38 against the Delhi skipper.
And if Zaheer starts well and gets a couple of early breakthroughs, Hyderabad's middle-order will once again be exposed and to be fair, apart from Henriques, none of the Hyderabad middle-order batsmen have shown consistency.
Arnab: Dhawan is actually happy to play second fiddle to Warner because rotating the strike suits his game in the initial overs. Once he has settled down, he can score at a pretty brisk rate, as he has shown over the years. Delhi should be wary of Warner at the top because he has amassed 235 runs in 5 games this season at a strike rate of 137.42.
Baidurjo: Warner has been a consistent performer for Hyderabad, but then, Delhi have the bowling to tie him up and once that happens. Hyderabad have their task cut-out because his opening partner Dhawan is not known to be a fluent starter. He has a strike-rate of just 112.50 this season. And that is honestly a bit below-par when you start off in the powerplay.
Arnab: The stats are also stacked in Hyderabad's favour when they play at home. David Warner's team has won 4 of the last 5 games that they have played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. And interestingly, skipper Warner leads the team's challenge at home with 993 runs at Uppal, the most by any batsman.
Baidurjo: Sealing the deal in close encounters is definitely an area that Delhi will need to focus on, but this Delhi team has shown that it has the arsenal to come back strong. Also, Delhi have won 4 of the last 5 games they have played against Hyderabad and that will surely improve Zaheer Khan and his boys' confidence going into this game in Uppal.
Arnab: Yes Baidurjo, it has been a mixed start for the defending champions, having won 3 games and lost 2. But going over the line in a thriller in their last outing against KXIP will definitely be a confidence booster for David Warner's team. Momentum plays a very important role in this format and SRH will come out all guns blazing tonight.

Delhi Daredevils will be aiming to display more impact in their batting department as they face a formidable challenge from defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad.
