Baidurjo and Arnab: This is all we have time for here folks. Catch you with the TOSS and LIVE blog in 30 mins from now.
Baidurjo: My LIKELY PLAYING XI for KKR goes: Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa (wk), Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Colin de Grandhomme, Kuldeep Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ankit Rajpoot
Arnab: My LIKELY PLAYING XI for SRH goes: David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Kane Williamson, Yuvraj Singh, Vijay Shankar, Naman Ojha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Siraj, Siddarth Kaul
Baidurjo: Hahaha. This is surely a debate that can go on for a few hours here. But time is running out and it is time for us to close it here. Arnab how about you telling us your LIKELY PLAYING XI for SRH tonight.
Arnab: Hyderabad also have a battery of quality bowlers. Bhuvi leads the race with 25 wickets, but he is closely followed by Rashid with 17 wickets, Siddarth with 16 wickets and Mohammed Siraj with 10 wickets. If KKR have the power in batting, SRH have been one of the best bowling units in the IPL.
Baidurjo: But Arnab, KKR have a quality line-up where you have one good batsman coming in after another. Lynn and Narine starts at the top, followed by Gambhir who has scored 454 runs this year. Then comes in Uthappa with 386 runs and finally you have the finisher in Manish Pandey, who has scored 396 runs. If Yusuf rises to the occasion, SRH have their task cut-out.
Arnab: Well do not forget the impact the young Rashid Khan has had this season. With 17 wickets in 13 games at an economy rate of 6.67, Rashid has clearly won hearts with his performances on a regular basis for Hyderabad.
Baidurjo: Interestingly, KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir has an excellent record against Bhuvi. In 13 innings, Bhuvi has failed to dismiss him even once. Moreover, Gambhir has scored 80 runs off the 67 balls that he has faced from the pacer. Similarly, Uthappa has batted against him in 9 innings and has not been dismissed even once. Clearly, Bhuvi has failed to show his class against KKR.
Arnab: For the record, while Lynn has been going well, Narine has been caught out in recent games and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be itching to send him back early with his late outswingers that will swing into Narine. 25 wickets this season at an economy of 6.97. This guy has been at the top of his game.
Baidurjo: But then, he does not have the experience of playing big matches when under the scanner and that is surely something the Kolkata batsmen will keep in mind. The likes of Lynn and Narine will definitely take the attack to him.
Arnab: Talking of bowlers, let me introduce to you one of the most impressive uncapped bowlers of this season. Siddarth Kaul. He has picked 16 wickets in 9 games this year and most importantly he has been unplayable in the death. He has picked 10 of those 16 wickets at the death.
Baidurjo: Once again, Umesh has Yuvi's number. In 5 innings, Umesh has dismissed the left-hander twice and that will surely be playing in the mind of KKR skipper Gambhir the moment Yuvi comes out to bat. With Coulter-Nile almost set to make a return to the team in place of Boult, KKR have the pace battery to unsettle Yuvi.
Arnab: Dhawan might have struggled a tad bit against Narine, but SRH also have Yuvraj Singh in the ranks and the senior campaigner would definitely like to stamp his class on the Eliminator. Having played for RCB, he knows the Chinnaswamy like the back of his hand. Also, he has been scoring runs this season at the death. He has 243 runs in 11 innings at 144.64.
Baidurjo: Rubbing salt on the wounds? Well KKR have the perfect answer to Dhawan. Sunil Narine has not had the best of times this year, but he has been able to trouble Dhawan with his mystery balls. In 9 innings, Narine has bowled 39 balls to him and the opener has managed to score just 35 runs. Clearly not a stat Dhawan would wish to be reminded.
Arnab: Let me remind you Baidurjo, Warner is not the only batsman in form for SRH this year. Opening partner Shikhar Dhawan has been just as impressive. He has scored 468 runs in 13 innings and will look to rise to the occasion having recently pipped KKR skipper Gambhir for a place in the Champions Trophy team for India.
Baidurjo: But then, the Hyderabad skipper has a nemesis in Umesh Yadav. The KKR pacer has dismissed him 3 times in 6 innings and that says a lot about the domination Umesh has had over the Australian. Hopefully today Umesh will make it 4 and Kolkata will keep their impressive run in Bengaluru intact.
Arnab: Enough of blasts from the past, let us talk about numbers this season. Agreed that the teams are locked at 1-1, but cricket fans will remember the century David Warner hit in Uppal in the return leg as SRH thrashed KKR by 48 runs.
Baidurjo: In that case, let me remind you Arnab that Kolkata hold the edge when it comes to playing in Bengaluru. While they have won 5 of the 9 games they have played here, Hyderabad have lost 3 of the 5 games they have played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Not to forget that the only time KKR played a knockout game in Bengaluru was when they lifted the Cup beating KXIP in the final.
Arnab: In that case, let me remind you that SRH have a better winning rate in the knockouts as compared to Kolkata. While Hyderabad have won 3 of the 4 playoff games they have played, they have lost just 1. Compared to that, KKR have won 4 of the 6 games that they have played in the knockouts.
Baidurjo: Wishful thinking for sure. Kolkata Knight Riders might have had a tough time in the last stage of the group phases, but that takes nothing away from the fact that they have travelled much better this season, winning 57.14 % of their away games as compared to Hyderabad's 28.57%. Clearly KKR hold the edge here.
Arnab: Yes, this will be a thriller for sure. Two team who have not had the best of times recently and with a lot at stake. While Kolkata have managed to win just 1 of their last 5 games, Hyderabad are slightly better off, having won 3 of their last 5 games. The gut feeling tells me that David Warner is going to put on another cracking display on the M. Chinnaswamy track tonight.
