Kolkata: In West Bengal, some new colours are being infused in poll campaigning - thanks to Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee's hidden talent.

Mamata Banerjee's brush with colours will finally come in handy for her party. The Trinamool Congress claimed its greatest weakness in its run up to the upcoming Assembly polls was its paucity of funds.

Mamata has hence decided to put her canvases up for sale and donate the proceeds to the party. The exhibition come sale will be held on the first week of April in Kolkata

"We have got a number of requests from Australia and UK for the paintings. So our leader has given us the permission to put them up on the website," said TMC Web Team member Abhishek Banerjee.

The Trinamool's election manifesto - with its high-resolution pictures and multi-coloured print on glossy paper suggest the party spent quite a fortune - something that goes against its claim of a fund crisis. But such questions are unlikely to stop Mamata Banerjee from going ahead with her plans.

It seems Mamata Banerjee wants to leave no stone unturned to avoid all possible roadblocks to taking on the Left. But even if the effort proves insufficient to overcome the claimed fund-shortage, moves like these would clearly do a world of good to her image as a leader.
