Thiruvananthapuram: A school van fell into a canal in Kerala's capital Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday morning killing four children and a woman. The van belonged to Little Hearts School. The woman was employed as an attendant by the school.
The children and the woman were taken out from the Parvathi Puthanar canal by local people and rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead. All the children studied in LKG and UKG. Three of the children were boys and another a girl.
Five have been taken out safely, and one child has been admitted to hospital in a critical condition. Rescue operations are still on.
According to the driver of the van, the vehicle had nine children and a woman attendant.
