KKR hero Bisla still without a domestic team

New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper-batsman Manvinder Bisla, who struck an attractive 89 to seal his team’s maiden IPL title over defending champions Chennai Super Kings last month, has yet to secure a first-class contract for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season which begins November 3. Bisla was not supposed to play the IPL 5 final in Chennai on May 5, but an injury to KKR medium-pacer L Balaji opened up a spot for him, and the 27-year-old responded with a 48-ball 89 that helped seal a successful chase of 191. However, Bisla’s success in the IPL has not earned him any buyers on the domestic circuit. "I still don't have a first-class team whom I will be representing in the next domestic season," he was quoted as saying. "I have had talks with officials of some of the state associations but nothing great has emerged from those discussions. What can you do if the situation is such [that no offers are coming in]?”Bisla has been playing domestic cricket for a decade, having represented Haryana and Himachal Pradesh during a 41-match first-class career. Currently, he is representing Air India in the Lala Raghubir Hot Weather tournament.
