IPL: Meiyappan's police custody extended till May 31

Mumbai: A Mumbai court on Wednesday extended BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan's custody till May 31 even as his lawyers told the court that the arrest is illegal and there is no evidence against him.

During the hearing the Judge said that perusal of case diary shows there is evidence which cannot be revealed now. But there is sufficient grounds for extending custody.

This even as the police continue to interrogate actor Vindoo Dara Singh and two other bookies. Sources said that Vindoo has admitted to meeting pacer Sreesanth on May 14 in the presence of a bookie. The police have, in fact, recovered cell phones to corroborate that.

Meanwhile, Chennai hotelier Vikram Aggarwal still remains untraceable. He has been summoned by the Tamil Nadu Police for questioning.
