New Delhi: The BCCI has confirmed the venues for a short-limited overs series between India and Pakistan in December-January with Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad set to host the much-anticipated series. This came after the BCCIâs vice-president, Rajeev Shukla, met with Indiaâs Home Secretary in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the tour. Shukla confirmed to CNN-IBN that the Ministry of Home Affairs approved the tour and Pakistan will arrive in the country on December 22 ahead of the first ODI three days later. "All aspects of the tour were discussed and the tour is on," said Shulka.Apart from the security issues, the Home Ministry also gives visa clearance to Pakistani spectators. Several top Pakistani dignitaries are expected to visit India to watch the cricket matches.In July, the BCCI had decided to resume cricketing ties with Pakistan by inviting the neighbouring country for a short series in December 2012-January 2013, to be sandwiched between the Test and ODI legs of the England team's tour of India.Pakistan will tour India for three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 matches on the short tour that begins in the last week of December and ends in the first week of the New Year. It is the first bilateral series between the two countries after the Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008. The arch-rivals have not played a series since Pakistan's tour of India in 2007. The Indian and Pakistan cricket teams have only met in international tournaments since 2007.
