My beard is greying already, jokes Virat Kohli

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore have had more close shaves than any other team in this edition of the Indian Premier League, and the last-over win over Delhi Daredevils on Friday was another one that made RCB skipper Virat Kohli nervous.

"My beard's greying already," Kohli, 24, joked during the post-match presentation at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground, where Bangalore beat the hosts by four runs to get closer to a play-off berth. "Nervous when the last over was going on, the way it has gone [in the] last few games."

Kohli, who hails from Delhi, was playing at his away home in the IPL and wowed his fans by scoring a 58-ball 99, though he was unlucky to get run out one run shy of a well-deserved century. "I love playing in my home ground, wonderful to play in front of my home crowd," he said.

RCB lost Chris Gayle in just the second over on Friday, when he got an inside edge onto his stumps against Irfan Pathan, but Kohli took the wind out of Delhi bowlers with his blitz that included 10 fours and 4 sixes.

Delhi, however, ran Bangalore close with late-order contributions from Ben Rohrer (32), Pathan (23*) and Morne Morkel (19), but eventually fell four runs short of Bangalore's 183 in the final over. Jaidev Unadkat starred for Bangalore with the ball, taking 5 for 25 that also won him the Man-of-the-Match award.
