No emotions when it's India vs Pakistan

New Delhi: When it comes to India vs Pakistan, we are talking about a different beast. No sentiments, no emotions, just a burning desire to win at all costs. And that's exactly how Ravi Shastri sounded while speaking about his views on the eleven India should pick to take on the archrivals on Sunday.

The former India skipper and opening batsman was talking to Times Now on the eve of the much-awaited Super Eight encounter at the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka and touched upon Yuvraj Singh's comeback and the dilemma surrounding Virender Sehwag's place in the team. While he indicated that Yuvraj's body is not ready yet for international cricket, Shastri threw his weight behind Sehwag, who has been left out of the playing XI in the last two matches.

"My content_cnion is, [for] eight months Yuvraj Singh has hardly played cricket, and when it comes to India vs Pakistan I'm not the kind to get emotional," Shastri told Times Now. "I want to pick the best team and beat them. You can't be sentimental here, but be practical," he added.

Shastri said it would be wrong to expect too much from Yuvraj's body after what it has gone through in the last one year. "It's not the question of what Yuvraj Singh can do but what is his current state of mind after what he has done, and you have to respect that. You can't be too greedy and ask too much from that body that quickly."

Shastri also advocated to bring back Sehwag and said MS Dhoni can do that even if he does not want to drop Yuvraj.

"Even if they want Yuvraj Singh in there, they can get Virender Sehwag in and maybe drop one spinner, either Harbhajan Singh or Piyush Chawla. The choice is up to the captain who they want. I would go for a variation, because when you have Chawla, you have a variation of R Ashwin and Chawla as the legspinner, but after his last performance, I doubt whether Chawla will get another match if India is playing two specialist spinners."
