New Delhi: Two supporters of veteran social activist and Gandhian Anna Hazare collapsed at Janatar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday and had to be taken to the hospital.

Nain Pal, an elderly man, collapsed because of severe weakness and dehydration. Earlier 18-year-old Deepender Gupta, a student, had also collapsed. Both protestors have been taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and are undergoing treatment.

Several thousand people from all walks of life have gathered at the Jantar Mantar in support of Hazare. There have been massive protests in support of Hazare in several other cities too including Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Patna, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Pune and Nashik.

The 72-year-old Hazare continued with his hunger strike for the third day on Thursday demanding a stricter anti-corruption law. Hazare has been demanding more teeth in the proposed Lokpal Bill and has come up with his own version called the Jan Lokpal Bill.

The Government, faced with massive support for Hazare's crusade in the civil society, has already indicated that it is ready to talk with him and has requested him to end his fast.
