HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member Dasari Narayana Rao, who will be retiring this April, has written to party president Sonia Gandhi to take action against forces that were trying to wreak havoc in the Congress at a time when chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to set the house in order.
Rao has praised Kiran Kumar Reddy in his letter saying that he had infused life into the party which was in a moribund state after the death of YS Rajasekahra Reddy on account of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana factors.
Kiran Kumar Reddy had worked hard to steer the party away from difficulties and a time when normalcy appear to be returning, some senior leaders in the government were casting aspersions on him which would damage the image of the party.
Though Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to take everyone along with him, some forces, which were jealous of him, were trying to damage his image. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chiranjeevi have become pally of late which is a good sign that the party was growing stronger, he said. Interestingly, Narayana Rao does not see eye to eye with Chiranjeevi.
