New Delhi: Luke Pomersbach, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman facing charges of molestation, has been granted bail and instructed to surrender his passport and not leave the country. The Delhi court decided to release Pomersbach on a surety of Rs 30,000 after CCTV footage from New Delhiâs ITC Maurya Hotel was unable to establish that the Australian had trespassed into the victimâs room."Obviously, I am very relieved after what happened in the court today. I am happy with the support I have got from my family and girlfriend back home and the RCB. Investigators should get to the bottom of the whole story. I have faith in the Indian judiciary," said Luke after the hearing. "I am disappointed with the way the allegations were made on me. It's sickening."Asked how the investigations would proceed in the coming days, he said,"I have no idea what is going to happen in the next few days. "Earlier, before entering the court, Pomersbach, who has a history of brawls and brushes with police in his country, told reporters outside the Patiala Court that he was innocent and that the charges levelled at him were a conspiracy. "I am innocent. It's a conspiracy. The girl is seeking attention ⦠That's why she is doing this," he said. Pomersbachâs father, George, also spoke to his son, who told him that he was innocent. "My son did not believe there were any other witnesses to the incident," he said, adding that his team should support him during the trial. "I am concerned the RCB are wiping their hands clean.âThe Delhi Police has, meanwhile, submitted in court a medical report regarding the nature of injury caused to the woman and her fiancée, and the details of the CCTV images from the hotel. The police said that the CCTV footage showed three men and a woman entering a room. Later, two men can be seen standing outside the room and Pomersbach is reportedly one of them. After going out of the victim's suite, Pomersbach is allegedly seen returning a second time, at around 5:15-5:30 pm. The victim, during the hearing, did not deny the fact that Pomersbach went in to her room. She claimed that he was invited. The woman has also sent a legal notice to RCB team director Sidhartha Mallya on Saturday for making offensive comments about her on Twitter. She lodged a formal complaint with the Delhi Commission for Women on Saturday. Mallya had on Friday tweeted against the alleged victim, questioning her character. "The girl who is accusing Luke of hitting her fiancée was all over me last night. If he was her fiancée, she wasn't exactly behaving like a future wife. What this girl is doing is idiotic." The victim has demanded an apology from Mallya. She said, "I am very hurt and disappointed... It is a false statement. I did meet Sidhartha Mallya. Sahil [her fiancée] was invited to the IPL party and I was with him." Meanwhile, the victim's fiancée is recuperating at Delhi's Primus hospital and the doctors said he is stable. "His wound near the ear is healing. There is a slight problem in hearing due to swelling. We are also waiting for CT scan results before we shift him out of the ICU," said Dr Baluja, who has been attending to him. The woman claimed that when she left the men, her fiancée and a common friend from Mumbai, alone and went to her bedroom to catch some sleep, Luke followed her and misbehaved with her. A case was registered against Pomersbach under various sections of the IPC, including 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 323 (hurt), 454 (house trespass) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment).
