New Delhi: The Income tax department on Monday conducted searches at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital.
Searches are on at the finance, purchase, biomedical and pharma departments of the Lilavati Trust Hospital. Computers of all the four departments have been seized to analyse the hard disks. The Heads of these departments are also being questioned about their account books.
I-T sleuths are also conducting searches at the premises of Mayfair Realtors and Vesta Infrastructures. Mayfair Realtors and Vesta Infrastructures had loaned Rs 14 crore to the Lilavati Trust in 2002.
The Supreme Court had on Wednesday issued notices on a petition seeking investigation into alleged money laundering by the trustees of Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital.
The apex court had issued notices to CBI, ED, SEBI and Central Government on a petition seeking criminal proceedings against the trustees of Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.
According to the petition, the Lilavati trustees are involved in money laundering and siphoning black money through the accounts of the hospital. The petition sought criminal case against the five trustees.
