Rain threat looms large over first T20

Visakhapatnam: Rain may prove to be a spoilsport in Saturday's T20 match against New Zealand with weather bureau forecasting heavy showers due to "active monsoon activity".

The conditions were good earlier in the day on Friday and both the teams had their net practice but it rained heavily in the evening.

According to the cyclone warning centre here, rains will continue for one or two days as the monsoon is very active.

An official from the centre apprehended that rains may disrupt the match.

Meanwhile, the organisers expressed confidence about staging the match stating that they have taken all precautions and covered the pitch.
