Rajasthan not to lodge complaint against pitch

Jaipur: Defending champions Rajasthan, who pipped Haryana to sail into the final of the Ranji Trophy for the second consecutive year, will not lodge an official complaint against the tricky pitch used for the semifinal at Lahli near Rohtak as they emerged winner.

"Yes, it was not a good wicket but since we have won the match I feel there is no point in lodging an official complaint," said KK Sharma, officiating secretary of the Rajasthan Cricket Association, in a function organised by the RCA to felicitate the players who propelled Rajasthan into the final.

Sharma said it was for everybody to see and take action.

"The BCCI match observer, zonal curator and other officials were there and now it was up to the BCCI to take any action if it feels so. I feel the wicket was same for both teams and we played better cricket on it to sail to the final."

Rajasthan coach Amit Asawa said that it was not for him to talk about the wicket.

"I am not supposed to comment in this matter. All I can say is that there was some uneven bounce and the conditions were not easy," he said.

Rajasthan had got the better of Haryana in the semifinal, which saw 18 wickets tumble on the first day, with the match getting over in just two and half days.

Even in the previous season, the semifinal match between Saurashtra and Karnataka was over within two days.
