    Five students hit by police vehicle

    VELLORE: Vehicular traffic was disrupted for over two hours on the Officers line in the city on Wednesday after five students of Government Muslim Higher Secondary school were hit by a police vehicle. A pedestrian Noorullah (30) was also injured in the mishap.
    The injured students were identified as Azzez, Rahman, Jaffrullah, Shathaj and Bharath of R N Palayam. They were rushed to Vellore GH and private hospitals. It is said that the all the boys studying in the tenth standard were on their way to the school to attend a special class when a vehicle of the Armed Reserve Police hit the boys and the pedestrian at around 8.30 am.
    When news of the mishap broke out, locals blocked the road demanding action against the driver.
