    Ranji Trophy Group B, Round 6, Day 2: Sharath keeps Karnataka in the hunt

    Bangalore: After bowling out Karnataka for a paltry 192 on the opening day, Delhi failed to capitalise on the situation and are now struggling at 169 for 7 on day two.

    Delhi batsmen were unable to add much to their overnight score and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Vaibhav Rawal (48) played a gritty knock, as the home side trailed by 23 runs at the end of second day's play. For Karnataka HS Sharath claimed four wickets, while Abhimanyu Mithun, Vinay Kumar and Stuart Binny chipped in with one wicket each.

    In Nagpur, Uttar Pradesh were in the driver's seat against Vidarbha by posting a big score of 524 for 7 on day two of their Ranji Trophy match. Parvinder Singh (53), Piyush Chawla (85) and Arish Alam's unbeaten 93 helped Uttar Pradesh to pile on the runs. For Vidarbha, Sandeep Singh and Gaurav Upadhyaya claimed three wickets each.

    In Vadodara, Odisha could not prevail over Baroda on day two, as the home team took a first innings lead by reaching 290 for 6. After bowling out Odisha for 181, Aditya Waghmode (71), Ambati Rayudu (64) and Pinal Shah (50) propelled Baroda past the visitor's score. For Odisha, Deepak Behera took three wickets and Lagnajit Samal two.

    In Pune, Maharashtra were sitting pretty at 302 for 3 with Sangram Atitkar slamming a century and was supported well by Ankit Bhawne for his 86. On day one, Haryana were bundled out for 257.
