London: A Russian female friend of Silvio Berlusconi -- facing trial for alleged paid sex with an underage dancer -- has come to his rescue, saying the Italian Premier is so attractive that he doesn't need to pay for sex.
Raisa Skorkina, 29, said she first met Berlusconi on the island of Sardinia in 2004, that they swapped numbers and that he phoned her the next day. "When I saw Berlusconi, I got butterflies in my stomach. What a handsome man!" she said.
The former model also said that she didn't have enough words in her vocabulary to describe the 74-year-old Italian Prime Minister's general goodness, saying he helped her with money, advice, and "with everything".
"I cannot tell you the whole truth. Now, me and him are just good friends. For me Silvio is my second family. He is my guardian angel," 'The Daily Telegraph' quoted Skorkina as telling Russian daily newspaper 'Komsomolskaya Pravda'.
When asked whether Berlusconi needed to pay for sex as his critics have alleged, she sprung to his defence.
"He totally does not need to do that. He is very handsome and regardless of the fact that he is well advanced in his years he is very sexy," the single woman said, adding, "I'm not dating anyone now because of Silvio."
In an earlier interview with Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica', Skorkina was equally robust in her powerful friend's defence. "He does not need to pay women. He's a rich exciting man full of power and charisma," she said.
Berlusconi is currently defending himself against charges that he paid for sex with an underage prostitute and abused his power. He has denied the charges.
