Bollywood high on cricket as India, Pak clash

Mumbai: As India takes on Pakistan in the semi-final match of the World Cup on Wednesday, life will come to a stand still in the sub-continent.

Many of the Bollywood actors have already made plans to watch the match either at Mohali or at home with friends.

Even a thorough professional like Aamir Khan couldn't resist the lure of being at the Mohali cricket stadium to watch the crucial match. Aamir has cancelled his shoot for Reema Kagti's film on Wednesday and will be at Mohali cheering for the Men In Blue from the stands.

Aamir won't be the only star at the venue. Akshay Kumar, who has been invited by Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister, will also be present at Mohali.

Abhishek Bachchan whose new release 'Game' is scheduled to release on Friday, is currently more interested in the big clash on Wednesday. The actor has been trying to get tickets for semi-finals.

"I've not got it, but yeah I'm trying for it. Every Indian is excited. It's the semi-finals of the World Cup. I'm very, very excited and I hope India lifts the trophy at Wankhade," said Abhishek Bachchan.

Other Bollywood stars who plan to make an appearance at Mohali stadium on March 30 are Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone along with beau Siddhartha Mallya, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Suneil Shetty. Punjab da Puttars - the Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby along with Esha and Ahana are also expected to be in the stands to cheer Team India.

However some stars who can't make it to the stadium are making sure they don't miss all the fun by watching the match in the comfort of their homes.

"I am not going to do anything on that day, I just want to watch the match. Everything will be on hold, and I hope we win," said actor Anushka Sharma.

"I am going to Kolkata tomorrow and will be back on the day of the match so that I just can see the match with family and friends," said actor Bipasha Basu.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is usually a regular fixture at stadiums during Team India's matches, will be throwing a World Cup bash at his home 'Mannat' on Wednesday afternoon where his friends and family will watch the match in SRK's private theatre.

With lots of Bollywood stars headed for Mohali - there will be enough action both at the pitch and off it.
