    South Africa vs Pakistan, 3rd Test, Day 2: As it happened

    Pakistan second innings:

    End of over 9: Pakistan 14 for 1 Stumps! South Africa well on top after Day 2. Pakistan are 14 for 1 following-on. Younis Khan and Azhar Ali are on the crease for Pakistan.

    End of over 5: Pakistan 9 for 1 South African bowlers are giving away nothing here. Right on the money from the word go.

    End of over 1: Pakistan 6 for 1 Out! Disastrous start for Pakistan in the second innings. Dale Steyn clean bowls Mohammad Haffez of the very first ball of second innings. Younis Khan walks into the middle and opens his account with a boundary.

    Pakistan first innings:

    End of Pakistan first innings: Pakistan 156-all out Kyle Abbott traps Younis Khan and picks up his seventh wicket in process. What a dream debut he is having. Younis Khan scored 33 before he was adjudged LBW. South Africa has Pakistan to bat again.

    End of over 45: Pakistan 149 for 9: OUT! Kyle Abbott is having a great debut. He picks another two in the same over. First one to go was Ehsan Adil, who guides it nowhere but straight down the throat of third slip and second to follow him was Mohammad Irfan for 0. Abbott has now six wickets to his name.

    End of over 41: Pakistan 133 for 7: OUT! Double blow for Pakistan in the same over. First man to go was Sarfraz Ahmed. Second to go on the very next ball was Saeed Ajmal in similar fashion. Both gave away simple catch to Graeme Smith in the first slip. Kyle Abbott in his debut has four wicket to his name though he was not able to get the hat-trick.

    End of over 39: Pakistan 132 for 5: Younis Khan and Sarfraz Ahmed are playing sensibly in the middle. This partnership is key for Pakistan if they want to avoid follow-on. The duo are rotating the strike well and are picking up boundaries as well.

    End of over 36: Pakistan 115 for 5: Younis Khan survives a loud shout of LBW. There was a mark on the HOT-SPOT, but the angles from the front view suggested that it was pad first. The third umpire said not out, Sarfraz Ahmed survives. Dale Steyn will think he was unlucky there.

    End of over 32: Pakistan 100 for 5: Hundred up for Pakistan, they need 110 more to avoid follow on. Younis Khan and Sarfraz Ahmed are in the middle for the visitors.

    End of over 30: Pakistan 95 for 5: Out! Dale Steyn strikes straight after the tea. Shafiq has been given out LBW even DRS could not save Pakistan this time. Steyn gets his first wicket of the match. Pakistan in deep trouble now. Sarfraz Ahmed comes into bat.

    At Tea: Pakistan 91 for 4: The post-lunch session completely belonged to the South African bowlers. Pakistan were 9 for no loss at the time of lunch, but after the wicket of Imran Farhat, the top order lost their way.

    End of over 26: Pakistan 75 for 4: Just when it was looking that Misbah and Younis khan are consolidating the Pakistan innings, they lost another wicket. Abbott bowled a good length delivery outside off, Misbah was trying to make some room as he edged the ball to second slip, and a brilliant catch by Peterson.

    End of over 19: Pakistan 56 for 3: Mohd Hafeez edged a short of length delivery on the off by Kyle Abbott to the gully. He was caught out by Elgar at 18 runs. In the very next over by Philander,Pakistan lost another wicket in the form of Azhar Ali. The ball pitched up outside off, and was a bit low, Ali got a thick inside edge that crashed onto the stumps.

    End of over 17: Pakistan 51 for 0: Imran Farhat was given out LBW by on-field umpire, he went for a review and was given not out by the third umpire as the ball didn't pitched in line. Farhat was out LBW in the 17th over as he missed the flick on a good length delivery pitched on the off stump by Philander.

    End of over 10: Pakistan 28 for 0: Pakistan openers Mohd hafeez and Imran Farhat have made a cautious start and are playing shots on the merit of the ball. South African pacers are still in search of the first break-through.

    End of over 5: Pakistan 9 for 0 The tourists went into lunch with Mohd Hafeez and Imran Farhat unbeaten on one and eight respectively. Dayle Steyn and Vernon Philander bowled a tight length but without any success.

    South Africa innings:

    End of the innings: South Africa 409 all out in 103.2 overs: South Africa finish their first innings at 409, thanks to a brilliant century of AB de Villiers. Vernon Philander also scored a fine 74. Rahat Ali was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as he scalped six wickets.

    End of over 98: South Africa 393 for 7: After lot of hard work, Pakistan were able to break the partnership as Vernon Philander edged a ball outside the off-stump from Younis Khan and Mohammad Hafeez made ni mistake in the second slip. Kyle Abbott has joined de Villiers.

    End of over 94: south Africa are 375 for 6: Both AB de Villers and Vernon Philander are going strong. Philander is looking good for his maiden Test century. He is batting on 72 and de Villiers is on 109. Pakistan bowlers are doing all they can to break the partnership.

    End of over 87: South Africa are 342 for 6: AB de Villiers has reached his 26th Test century with a nice square drive that earned him three runs. Brilliant knock from him again. On the other side, Vernon Philander is also playing a steady innings. He is batting on 49.

    South Africa resumed on 336 for 6 with AB de Villiers batting on 98 and Vernon Philander on 45, their seventh-wicket stand having produced 86 runs so far. On day one, the home side had been reduced to 248 for 6 before Philander joined de Villiers to thwart Pakistan's depleted bowling attack.
