    Stats from Lord's: Ishant's first five-for in a winning cause and more

    Statistical highlights from India's historic triumph on Monday that saw them beat England in a Test at Lord's for the first time since 1986 and second overall in 82 years.

    - India have produced a victory after failing to register a single win in their previous fifteen Tests overseas. The win is their second at Lord's after 28 years and their sixth ever in a Test match in England.

    - Under MS Dhoni's leadership, India have won 27, lost 14 and drawn 14 out of 55 played - success % 49.09.

    - Ishant Sharma has become the first Indian fast bowler to take seven wickets in the fourth innings in Tests. Javagal Srinath had taken 6 for 21 vs South Africa at Ahmedabad in 1996-97.

    - Ishant's figures are the fourth best by an Indian speedster away from home. Kapil Dev had taken 8 for 85 vs Pakistan at Lahore in 1982-83 and 8 for 106 vs Australia at Adelaide in 1985-86.

    - Ishant's figures are the fourth best in the fourth innings for India. Anil Kumble had captured 10 for 74 vs Pakistan at Delhi in 1998-99 - the best ever.

    - With 272 dismissals (235 catches + 37 stumpings), Dhoni has moved into the fifth place in the charts of leading wicketkeepers, overtaking the 270 (265 catches + 5 stumpings) in 81 Tests by Jeff Dujon (West Indies).

    - Ishant (7 for 74) has recorded his best ever figures in Tests, outstripping the 6 for 51 vs New Zealand at Wellington in 2013-14.

    - Ishant became the first Indian bowler to bag seven wickets in an innings at Lord's. Actually, he is the first Indian bowler to take seven wickets in an innings in England.

    - Ishant has produced six five-wicket hauls in Tests.

    - His performance at Lord's is his first instance of five wickets or more in an innings in a winning cause.

    - Ishant's tally of 25 wickets (average 26.48) in four Tests this year is the highest by an Indian bowler. He is the first and only bowler to record three five-wicket hauls in Tests this year.

    - Ishant's performance is the fifth best by an overseas bowler apart from the best by a bowler from the sub-continent at Lord's - the best figures are 8 for 38 by Glenn McGrath for Australia in 1997.

    - Two Indian fast bowlers - Bhuvneshwar Kumar 6 for 82 and Ishant Sharma 7 for 74 - for the first time in a Test match have bagged six or more wickets in an innings.

    - 54 byes conceded in the Test is an unwanted record in a Test match in England. The 1905 Trent Bridge Test between England and Australia had witnessed 52 byes.

    - Since registering a 74-run victory over Australia at Chester-le-Street in August last year, England have not won a single Test out of last 10, losing seven and drawing the remaining three.

    - Under Cook's captaincy, England have won nine, lost eight and drawn eight out of 25 contested - winning percentage 36.00.
