    Tiwary's 93 takes India A to 369 for 9

Mumbai: Manoj Tiwary made an impressive 93 and Irfan Pathan contributed with 46 as India A posted 369 for 9 at stumps on day one of their warm-up game against the visiting England in Mumbai on Tuesday. For England, Tim Bresnan and Graeme Swann took three wickets each but the big concern for the visitors will be the fitness of Steven Finn who went to hospital for scans on his thigh. Finn bowled three overs in his first spell after India A chose to bat but had to leave the field after bowling one over in his second.

The century stand between Tiwary and Pathan took India A past the 350 mark after they lost three big wickets in the afternoon - the biggest being Yuvraj Singh for 59. The run out of Murali Vijay (7) started off things on the wrong foot for the home side. Bresnan, who ran Vijay out, also snapped Ajinkya Rahana who was caught by Kevin Pietersen for four.

Abhinav Mukund played some delightful strokes to bring up his half-century. He stitched in 56 runs with Yuvraj but his wicket at the stroke of lunch left India A in a spot. Team's captain Suresh Raina and Yuvraj played with caution in the mid session before Raina looped a simple catch to short-leg off Samit Patel.

Yuvraj, who got a lifeline on the first ball he faced when he was dropped at square leg, hit seven boundaries and four sixes in his knock. He was the fifth wicket to fall when he missed the flight of Swann's delivery and was stumped. Wriddhiman Saha was trapped for 20 by a reverse swing from James Anderson.

Tiwary and Pathan got together at 190 and took the team to 300 before the latter became Swann's third victim. Bresnan was on a hat-trick when he bowled Tiwary and Ashok Dinda on consecutive deliveries but Parvinder Awana managed to squeeze out the third. At stumps, Vinay Kumar was batting on 25, while Awana was giving him company with 11.
