Tri-Series: India bank on young guns

    • Ishant Sharma: Being in and out-of-form has become a habit of the lanky pacer. It was advised by some greats to include Sharma only in the longer form of the game. But an injury to Zaheer Khan had forced selectors to give him another go. (AFP Photo)

    • Pragyan Ojha: The slow left-arm bowler will have to fight for the place with Ravindra Jadeja as the latter would also give team a batting option. But the form he showed in the third Test match against Sri Lanka could go in his favour. (AFP Photo)

    • Suresh Raina: Though the left hander is still 23, he is approaching a century in the fifty-over format (98 matches). Raina had a superb Test series (223 runs with an average over 111) and he would like to continue his good run in tri-series too. (AFP Photo)

    • Virat Kohli: The Delhi batsman could be given a chance to open the batting with Virender Sehwag. The 21-year-old would like to consolidate his position further in the side with a good show in the tri-series. (AFP Photo)

    • Abhimanyu Mithun: The solidly-built Karnataka bowler showed great character when it came to batting at lower down the order in the Test series, now it's time replicate the same heroics with the ball. (AFP Photo)

    • R Ashwin: The Tamil Nadu off-spinner is a decent batsman for his state side and he could do a similar job for the national side once given an opportunity. (AFP Photo)

    • Ravindra Jadeja: Selectors have shown great faith on this 21-year-old lad. And it is time for Saurashtra player to perform on a more consistent basis. (AFP Photo)
