BMW Starts Production of 2017 5-Series in India

BMW India has started the production of the all-new 5 Series sedan at its Chennai based manufacturing facility ahead of the launch on June 29th, 2017.

BMW India has started the production of the all-new 5 Series sedan at its Chennai based manufacturing facility ahead of the launch on June 29th, 2017. The new sedan will be launched in three variants: 530i, 520d and 530d M-Sport.

Today, BMW Plant Chennai is proud to start the roll out the all-the new 5 Series with highest standards of quality, distinguished workmanship and uncompromising engineering. We are confident that the all-new BMW 5 Series produced in Chennai will further increase our momentum in the Indian luxury car segment.” Being lighter and refined than the outgoing model, the 2017 BMW 5 Series would come loaded with several exquisite features such as iDrive 6.0 with touch and air gesture support, automatic LED headlamps, 4-zone climate control and rear seat entertainment.

Once launched BMW 5-Series will compete against the likes of Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Volvo S90 and Audi A6. Expect a price range of Rs 52-65 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The all-new BMW 5 Series that will be launched this month has everything that is needed to take the Indian luxury car segment by storm. I would like to congratulate the Plant Chennai team for achieving this important milestone and we are extremely proud for the smooth start of production of the all-new BMW 5 Series.” Mechanically, it would be offered with the company's 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and paddle-shifters as standard. The flagship 530d M-Sport grade would get a 3.0L 6-cylinder turbodiesel motor with maximum power of 256bhp.
