Jaipur Literature Festival 2015: Chefs, poets and record-breakers set to launch books
The festival, which takes place between 21-25 January, will see 19 new titles launched.

New Delhi: Known for attracting interesting literary stars, the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival has also become the place to launch the biggest books of the year to the public.

The festival, which takes place between 21-25 January, will see 19 new titles launched, including the launch of the 'Masterchef India Cookbook' with Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna. Khanna will appear at the Festival on the opening day to launch the book, which gives fans of the hit TV show hints and tips on signature dishes from around the world.

Also on the opening day of the festival, Coca-Cola India will launch the 26th edition of the 'Limca Book of Records', which is dedicated to Indian literature. In keeping with its quest for excellence, this edition of the Limca Book of Records also catalogues astounding achievements of 15 Indian writers, who have done India proud, as the 'People of the Year 2015'. These luminaries have been chosen by an independent panel and will be announced at the Festival.

One of the most closely guarded secrets in publishing will be revealed at the Festival when Amish Tripathi announces the subject of his next series following the hugely popular Shiva trilogy. Amish will announce the details at a highly anticipated press conference on Friday 23 January in conversation with senior writer and broadcaster Swapan Dasgupta and lyricist and ad-guru Prasoon Joshi - fans can follow the online buzz using the hashtag #WhatNextAmish?

A highlight of the Festival will be the launch of a new coffee table book commemorating 10 years of the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards. The exclusive book, 'Curtain Call: Celebrating Indian Theatre', will be launched on the second day of the Festival and only available by Shabana Azmi and Girish Karnad and only available to collectors rather than for general sale. The book will look back over 10 years of the META Awards celebrating the very best of contemporary Indian theatre.

Cinema will also be present with the launch of The Front Row: Conversations on Cinema, by acclaimed film critic Anupama Chopra. The book looks back on Anupama's career conversations with the leaders of Indian cinema and will be launched by actress Sonam Kapoor.

Acclaimed poet Vishvjit Prithvjit Singh, will launch his latest book of poetry Kuchh Dhundhli Tasveerein, whilst Malashri Lal will launch Tagore and the Feminine: A Journey in Translations, a collection of Rabindranath Tagore's work which Lal has edited. Poet and screenwriter Javed Akhtar will launch In Other Words his latest collection of poetry, whilst author and diplomat Abhay K will share his latest book The Seduction of Delhi an intricate and beautiful tribute to India's capital city. Also focusing on Delhi will be Arjun Puri and Thukral & Tagra with their book Bathtub which features six stories of travellers from different countries accompanied by six works of art specially commissioned for the project and exclusively crafted by Thukral and Tagra for The Bird Group.
