It's not everyday that you see Peter Jackson instructing passengers about the safe use of electronic equipment.

Hobbit fans will love this one. Air New Zealand has released a new video ahead of the final film in the Hobbit trilogy that takes passengers on a trip to Middle Earth and uses orcs, wizards and dwarves to teach valuable air safery lessons to its flyers.

The video uses stars from the film adaptation of the JRR Tolkien epic, including Elijah Wood, who played the role of Frodo Baggins, to explain necessary (but often boring) in-flight drills.

It's not everyday that you see Peter Jackson instructing passengers about the safe use of electronic equipment.

"We're thrilled to unveil The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made", a description on the YouTube channel of Air New Zealand stated. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is set for a December 17, 2014 release.

There are cameos by Sylvester McCoy, Dean O'Gorman and Weta Workshop co-founder Sir Richard Taylor. Their 2012 safety video, promoted with the same hashtag #airnzhobbit, was also Hobbit-themed.
