Internet Is Lauding This Woman For Standing Up Against Cyber Bullying
(Photo: Facebook/Screenshot of Taruna Aswani's post)
In a brave act, a US-based Indian woman Taruna Aswani, has stood up against cyber blackmailing.
While many women give in to the demands of the blackmailer, fearing insult and humiliation, Aswani, instead of cowering down, decided to take the cyber bully head on.
The man in question - Kevin John, threatened Aswani that he would leak her private images on social media after he unlawfully gained access to her cloud backup. He sent Aswani two mails, listing his demands and warned her that if she tries to 'act smart', the consequences could be severe. In the mail he added, that she would have to 'excite him' so that he keeps his mouth shut.
But Aswani had made her decision. She was not one to be taken down by a cyber bully. She made the entire matter public via Facebook and added screenshots of the email sent by the man.
In her post, Aswani, clearly stated that her cloud backup has been compromised by a hacker. She also mentioned that she chose to come out in public 'so that other women may take a lesson to stand up to bullies'.
In her post, she wrote,
"Dear Friends and Family,
I am posting this and emailing you individually as my online identity has been compromised. I have in the last 24 hours received 2 emails from someone that claims to know me that has hacked into my google cloud backup. He has been threatening to release some private pictures and videos of me to my friends family and colleagues. As embarrassing as the videos may be ( they were sent to my boyfriend at the time) I choose to stand up to this man. Instead of cowering down to his requests. I do this so that other women may take a lesson to stand up to bullies and low life's like this and may get the confidence to stand up as well in case he is known to us and is targeting all of us, but we're either too scared, ashamed or clueless in how to manage or handle such situations.
I implore you to share this post with as many people as you know to get the word out. Perhaps someone may be able to locate this person through his digital footprint. Please help me in nabbing this sick pervert. If you find any information on this, please inbox me so I can report it to the Detective working on the case or you may contact him directly on +1 301 699 2601 and mention my name for reference. Grateful for your help in this, I have enclosed along with this screen shots of his emails- I have deleted the photos/videos he had attached. Thanks for all your help and support in this.

According to Aswani's post, she has already hired a detective but has requested social media users to share her post as much as possible so that more people know about this man and his maligned intentions.
She has also requested Internet users to text her any information they acquire of him so that it can help her 'in nabbing this sick pervert'.
Apart from lauding Aswani for being courageous and taking the bold decision, social media users have offered help to connect Aswani with cyber security firms.
Several online users have urged her to 'stay strong' and fight it out till the end.
