All it may take is a tweet, and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will rush to the help of those in distress.

On Tuesday morning, Sarita Takru whose husband died the day before, tweeted to the minister asking for her help to get an Indian visa for her only son Abhai Kaul in the US, so that he could reach in time for the cremation.

On noticing Takru's tweet, Swaraj asked for her son's phone number so that she could extend help.

And in a prompt response, the minister directed the Indian Embassy in Washington to grant visa to Kaul to attend his father's last rites, despite the mission being closed for two days for Vijaya Dashmi and Moharram.

Soon after Swaraj's instructions, the Indian Embassy requested Takru to share her son's details so that visa could be granted swiftly.

It was another one of the instances where the minister has won people's hearts for taking time out from her busy schedule to address people's problems.
