Indian marriages are nothing less than a grand event, celebrated for the coming together of two hearts and two families. A colourful, fun-filled event, the wedding ceremonies take place amid lots of singing, dancing and emotions. Very similar to what our Hindi films show, Indian weddings are extremely fun to be part of and as they call it, the entire event sure is a big, fat celebration. And, just like the movies show, the sangeet function is an essential part of the wedding.
For the sangeet ceremony, an evening is dedicated wherein relatives including friends, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and even at times the bride and the groom put together a song-and-dance show to celebrate the couple's new beginning together. And with social media being the 'it' thing now, friends and relatives immediately upload visuals and conduct Facebook live so that those who missed the event and people even otherwise could have a glimpse of the grand event.
One such sangeet ceremony that has gone on YouTube was uploaded on January 4, has garnered over 6 million views. In this marathon dance performance, the duration of which is 17-minutes, the bride, her gang of girls, her parents cousins, aunts, uncles and even her grandmother, performs with all their heart.
